Toward a Voice-Centered Relational Anti-Racist Listening Praxis in Counselor Education

This article outlines key elements of an anti-racist listening praxis in counselor education. It demonstrates how racism relationships teaching and learning impacts racialized subjectivities, the personal, cultural ancestral worlds these subjectivities articulate, a way that limits capacity practitioners to be relational subjects uses them instead reinforce White/Western normativity. describes both challenging by re-centering “I” speakers traditional knowledges, identities preferred ways being which they refer their stories. Examples are offered. Practical applications research methods education considered.
